What to Expect

Even when a death is expected it still comes as a shock to families.  You will have to take on board a lot of information from a number of different people.

My advice at this time is to keep a pad and pen handy, ready to write down any questions that will pop into your head and any information that you are given.  Your body will try and protect you by letting you forget things. If you write them down you will at least be able to keep a check on what is happening.

Have a small group of trusted friends and family to assist you and let them share any information with extended family and friends. This will stop you getting completely exhausted. Take up offers of help. People like to have something to do.
